ChAnGe In Times!!!

It was the letter box in our hostel, which used to welcome me to search in for the letter on my name. It was during my intermediate. My mother used to write me and some times my cousin, Yamini. It was the precious moment when I read the written words. I used to read the same letter many a times. In fact, till the time I got another letter, I used to give a glance to the earlier letters every day.

I can not actually explain, but those letters made me experience the joy of being loved, apart from the fact that they did encourage me for the days I had to face. I still have some of those sweet memories with me, not only at my heart but also in my folder.

And today, it is all about SMSs, E-mails, and print outs. The form of expression has been changed, unlike the quality. Same love, same wishes of the same hearts have been conveyed in different ways these days, and of course, every thing is meant for some certain beauty of life.

In all the ways, it is the true symbol of change in times. World is advancing, and we must move along with that.

Yes we must move ahead but the beauty of handwritten letter can never be replaced by an email, it's like getting close to the person thru his/her writing :)
Technology advanced but our heart refuses to dance with the flow :)

Pallav said...

You are right..somewhere today i feel in this tech savy world we hv lost those emotions now...
nowadays..emails had actuuly replaxced the letters..
but the kind of emotion u have wen u write n read latter... emails cant give u that...

Happy New Year Pramoda! Let the words flow more than ever before this year :) What a fantastic thought there! So true! Happiness lies in small gestures and things that we so often tend to take for granted! I so miss letter writing and receiving hand written letters.

Oh you made me look into some folders in my mobile. I have treasured a few SMSes in there that I keep reading whenever I miss the people I like the most. It is really heart warming to read those message over and over again because they bring a feeling of being blessed, don't they? This post is dedicated to remembrance and may you remember such sweet moments and cherish them for ever.

You are right. Today, all communication is instant and it has taken out the joy of waiting for a much awaited letter or message. Of course, I am not complaining as its more convenient but your post took me back to those days when I waited eagerly for the postman to deliver letters. Those are moments that I too cherish a lot.

Hi Pramoda,
Nice post. Yes, the tools of expressions have changed but the expressions have remained as genuine. Or have they? Because letters in old days were written far less frequntly than e-mails are written now, so maybe the sincerity has waned. But more people write e-mails than the number of people who used to write letters. Letters have a literary wring to them; e-mails are more customary and everyday. Preserve those letters; as years go by, they will carry more value.

Thanks for visiting my blog, and a very happy new year.

True..the means of communication have undergone a sea change. Instead of just one or two means we have plenty now. But one thing I find missing is the human, emotional touch. We have a larger number of modes of communication now but the feeling of alienation in the modern world.
thanks for sharing your views.

Nothing can replace the dimuntive post card or an inland letter filled with no space left out. There was the personal touch, the hand writing, that is missing inthe modern modes of communication. The thrill of eager expectancy when I watch the post man approaching and the dashed hopes when he walked past me smiling and telling no letters for me are things of the past.
Thank you Pramu for the nice post

Don't seem to agree .. a handwritten letter can never replace a printed/emailed/sms'ed/blah-blah'ed forms of communication !

Hi Prams,

I too felt joy when I was sharing my views and wishes with my friends, family members etc when i was in Diploma, Btech, ofcourse sometimes in Mtech. Because, the world was advancing when I was in M.Tech. Till Mtech I was not using my email. I created it in my btech but was using from M.Tech itself.

This post makes me to remember my days of reading my letters or posts from friends and parents. I too felt very happy when I was reading them, I too read twice, thrice sometimes. Still I too kept them in my folder( we can say small bag). Remembering every moment we enjoyed gives awesome feeling and real happiness to us.

Yes, now a days we looking at cellphone or e-mails for SMSs or mails from our nearers and dearers. Thanks to the technology and advanced world for giving such a flexility in this busy life.

Prasad :)

Thank You.

Hope this area is actually the correct page to contribute this... I primarily hoped to make it easy for anyone across the forum who lives in Oz know about a good top of the range audio visual equipment world-wide-web site called Ordio. I discovered them somewhat by accident when I was hunting for Sennheiser Headphones and it just so happened that these people had the most affordable prices available. Not only that but they are remarkably knowledgeable and even followed up on my purchase to make sure I was still satisfied and content. They buy out massive inventories of the best in home entertainment equipment so that they can significantly break the price down. Absolutely stop by their site if you're taking a look for some home electronics.
